Creating a Safe Space for Exmormons: My Journey and Mission
Welcome to my corner of the web where I get to play in all things me! As a 15-year-old, first-generation Exmormon, I have embarked on a personal journey that has led me to question and ultimately distance myself from the teachings of Joseph Smith and the LDS Church. While I am not anti-Mormon, I no longer believe in the doctrines and principles that once shaped my life.
Despite my change in beliefs, I still hold a deep appreciation for my roots and the Mormon community. I understand the challenges and complexities of leaving an organized religion, especially one as tightly knit as the LDS Church. It can be a difficult road, filled with uncertainty, doubt, and even isolation. That’s why I have made it my mission to help those who come after me.
Creating a safe space for Exmormons to come and play has become an integral part of my life’s journey. I want to provide a supportive environment where individuals who have left or are considering leaving the LDS Church can find solace, understanding, and a sense of belonging. This online space is a haven for those who may feel lost or alone in their decision to distance themselves from their Mormon upbringing.
One of the primary goals of this safe space is to foster a community that embraces diversity of thought and experiences. We welcome Exmormons from all walks of life, regardless of where they are on their personal journey. Whether you are in the early stages of questioning your faith or have already made the decision to leave, you are welcome here.
Through blog posts, forums, and resources, we aim to provide valuable information and support to those navigating life after Mormonism. Topics may include coping with family and social dynamics, finding new sources of meaning and purpose, developing a personal belief system, and rebuilding one’s identity outside of the LDS Church.
It’s important to note that this safe space is not about bashing or attacking the Mormon faith. We respect the right of individuals to believe and practice as they choose. Our focus is on creating a supportive network for those who have chosen a different path.
If you are an Exmormon seeking connection, understanding, and a sense of community, I invite you to join us. Together, we can navigate the challenges and joys of life after Mormonism, while also honoring our shared heritage.
Thank you for visiting my corner of the web. I hope you find comfort, inspiration, and the support you need as you embark on your own journey of self-discovery and personal growth.
